Beautiful Illusion

We’re working hard to get some more new material into the set and we should have a new song ready for you which we’ll perform on 29th Jan at the landlady’s birthday party at the Plough, Ashby.  Looking forward to playing it live for the first time…

Gig update

Crackin’ couple of gigs at the weekend at the Moira Furnace Folk Festival and then the Appleby Folk-Punk half day event.  Andy fitted in very nicely with his drum sound.  Things are looking good and we’re currently talking to some promoters about next year’s events. We’re at the Freedom Heartfest on Saturday 27th August and then both Whitwell Music Festival and the Star & Garter...

New band member

Carl Sutton has joined us on acoustic guitar as a new permanent member of the band to give us an extra dimension.  This takes us up to seven permanent members plus the additional musicians that join us from time to time.  At this rate we’ll soon be outdoing Bellowhead!  There are a couple of gigs that Carl is unavailable for due to prior commitments but the future is looking rosy…

Glastonbudget Audition 13th Jan

We’re auditioning for the Glastobudget Festival on Thursday night and if you’re around then it would be great to see you there.  £4 entry and 5 local bands- bargain!  We’re on at 9:45 pm so come on down and whoop and cheer us on. We’ll be joined by violinists Jonathan Trout and Joy Gravestock so it’ll be a lot of fun and a trial by fire for Jonathan who had his first rehearsal...

New Band Member

Harmonicist Rhys Jones has joined Green Fortune as a permanent band member.  Rhys formerly played harmonica with Rock & Blues band The Dooberies. Rhys has been working with us for the last few months and has fit into the band seamlessly.  Good times ahead for all!!

Whatstandwell Festival

We had a lot of fun at the Whatstandwell Festival, there were some really good bands on; we supported LoFi Lung and the brilliant Lucy Ward.  The audience were a lot of fun too and the organisers at Hankin Farm were very friendly.  We were even called back for an encore- always good news when it’s a new crowd… maybe we’ll see you there next time?

Next few gigs/ new CD available soon

We’ve been busy preparing our newly produced version of My Daemon Lover, along with supporting song The Gypsy’s Curse over the last few weeks and we should have copies of the CD available when we play at The Wharf and also at The Wetmore Whistle on 19th & 20th June respectively.  We’ve added a couple of new songs to our set list and they’ll both get their first airings at these...

Burtfest 17th July

Green Fortune will be rockin’ the acoustic stage at Burtfest on 17th July.  There’s a great line-up for the day, we’ll announce our time slot once we have confirmation so keep checking back for more info…  You can find the weblink to Burtfest under “Friends of Fortune”

Blues harp player

Harmonica player Rhys Jones came along to rehearsal last night- wow, what great musician and a lovely chap too.  We’ll be working together over the coming months as Rhys will be helping out at some of our gigs so look out for those.  Rhys usually plays with the popular alternative/rock/blues band The Dooberies. www.thedooberies.com

Lee Rosey’s gig

Rockin’ out at Lee Rosey’s Tea Rooms- you kinda know you’re showing your age when the strongest drink on the menu is ginger beer!  What a great gig though; Nottingham city centre, intimate venue, great crowd, supporting really good artists- Becky Syson and then LoFi Lung.  Looking forward to seeing them both again.  Louby Lou’s first solo gig with us and she slotted in perfectly, Joy’s...
