Mark Knight

Mark plays Mandolin, Mandola, Guitar and Vocals.

It was in 1978 when Mark was 12 that he realised he was probably a Time Lord: “I remember the occasion distinctly; I bought ‘’God Save the Queen” by the Sex Pistols from Coalville indoor market- it had been released almost exactly one year before!”  Mark has confirmed his early suspicion by going on to make a number of discoveries, months and sometimes years after their original debut.  He goes on: “I was a punk rocker in the early eighties; I discovered coal mining just as all the pits were closing, I discovered unemployment- almost 30 years to the day after it became fashionable under Maggie Thatcher and I’ve recently become a full time student at the age of 44!” 

Mark has taken to introducing himself to strangers as “Dr Hue”- to disassociate himself from “a certain celebrity Time Lord”. 

It is however his most recent discovery- folk music- that Mark is most proud:  “To think that I’ve discovered folk music hundreds of years after it was invented really brings a tear to the eye- it’s for this single discovery that I’ll be remembered to posterity”.
